RIMS-Certified Risk Management Pro

New RIMS-CRMP Exam

RIMS is launching a new RIMS-CRMP certification exam on September 1, 2022 to reflect the evolving roles of risk professionals. This change ensures that we are testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical to your success as a risk professional.

How is the exam changing?

The five exam domains are the same, but we’ve adjusted the weight of each domain and updated a few tasks to include crucial topics such as assessing organizational resilience, multidimensional decision analytics, and risk program implementation. Register now for the webinar that explains the differences between the current and new exam. View the domains and top 10 resources for the new exam.

How does this change affect current applicants?

Current applicants should continue with the process and sit for the exam prior to September 1st. If you’d prefer to take the new exam, you can do so if your six-month exam authorization window ends after September 1st. Please contact us at RIMS-CRMP@RIMS.org if you have specific questions related to your candidacy.

Are the prep workshops also changing?

We are updating and further improving the RIMS-CRMP Exam Prep workshops to prepare candidates for the new exam. The new workshops are scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2022. We will also offer a webinar that covers the new exam content for candidates who are currently preparing for their exams and need to fill in knowledge gaps.

As a reminder, exam prep courses are not required for you to sit for the exam. You may prepare for the exam on your own by reviewing the RIMS-CRMP Study Guide and the recommended reading list, which will also be updated.
