State Legislative Conferences in Texas, California and Florida

March 24, 2011

This spring, for the third consecutive year, RIMS took its annual RIMS on the Hill event to state capitols, where RIMS members sat down with their local representatives and strategized with RIMS government affairs professionals.

Modeled after RIMS on the Hill, these regional legislative gatherings took place in Austin, Sacramento and Tallahassee where members from Texas, California and Florida were able to discuss issues of importance to their regions. They also enjoyed the opportunity to acquaint their representatives with RIMS and the risk management profession as a whole.

The expanded regional RIMS on the Hill events are part of a strategic initiative to expand the scope of RIMS’ foothold in legislative and regulatory matters. RIMS will continue to be a watchful advocate on the national front, but will also dedicate resources to its regional RIMS on the Hill events in coming years. Events in Michigan and Connecticut are planned for later in 2011.
