I hope everyone is rested and ready to jump back in after one of the most successful RISKWORLD in years. With nearly 11,000 attendees from more than 65 countries and a record-breaking 320 exhibiting companies, RISKWORLD 2026 exceeded all expectations.
Now the question is: Are you ready to capitalize on RIMS opportunities and make the most of your RISKWORLD investment? And, for those who could not join us in Philly, are YOU ready to capitalize on the RIMS opportunities waiting for us in the months ahead?
Before we jump into what’s on the horizon, I want to reflect a little and acknowledge the amazing risk professionals who volunteer on the RISKWORLD Programming Committee. I know you have spent long days and late nights helping RIMS plan for this event. Your passion and commitment were felt around every corner of the convention center. Thank you.
I also want to commend the Foundation for Risk Management Board. Gaining financial support for the Foundation while at RISKWORLD was a priority. Not only were those efforts successful, already, the Foundation has established scholarships for risk professionals to attend conferences later this year.
I want to recognize all our award winners. The RIMS community is full of extraordinary leaders and volunteers. Thank you for sharing your expertise and insight with us. During the award presentations at RISKWORLD, RIMS also announced its collaboration with FUNDALARYS that will pave the way for risk leaders in Latin America to earn the RIMS-CRMP certification. I want to thank all our partners for helping to advance risk management worldwide.
My final big RISKWORLD shout out goes to our exhibitors and sponsors who continue to invest in the RIMS community. Thank you for not only supporting the conference but for continuing to innovate and empowering us to strengthen our risk programs.
SO, WHAT’S NEXT? In the coming months, there are a handful of RIMS opportunities to capitalize on to build your networks and advance your expertise.
For those itching to meet back in-person, RIMS regional conference season is upon us. It starts with a celebration at Florida RIMS Educational Conference’s 50th Anniversary in July. Following that, RIMS Texas Regional Conference and Chicagoland round out the summer. In Q3 we have RIMS Western Regional Conference and Canada’s largest risk management event, the RIMS Canada Conference in Quebec City. And, although it’s not a regional conference, I invite you to end the year with us at RIMS ERM Conference in Columbus, Ohio in November.
Capitalizing on RIMS opportunities from home is an option too. Check out the upcoming webinars, virtual workshops, RIMScast episodes, Risk Management Magazine articles, and the countless reports in RIMS Risk Knowledge library available to you online. Part of RIMS online learning experience includes the upcoming RIMS-CRMP Prep Course in June, as well as the CRO Certificate program that is now accepting applicants for the next session.
Lastly, volunteer. This Society was built by extraordinary risk leaders who stopped at nothing to support others. RIMS members can now nominate themselves and their colleagues to serve on the RIMS 2027 Board of Directors. Starting May 20, members are urged to submit their applications to help shape the future of risk management and RIMS. Learn more about the process here.
