Call for Sessions | RIMS ERM Conference 2026

Submission Deadline: Friday, June 19

We’re preparing for the RIMS ERM Conference 2026 on November 19–20 in Columbus, Ohio—and we want to hear from you.

Help shape the agenda—submit a session proposal with timely insights, leading practices, and practical takeaways for today’s ERM professionals. Whether your topic is foundational or advanced, your experience can help peers navigate a rapidly shifting risk landscape and bring ideas back to their organizations.

We strongly encourage proposals with interactive, real-world learning. The most captivating sessions often include:

  • Case studies
  • Facilitated discussion
  • Live polling
  • Small-group breakouts
  • Roundtables
  • Panel-style Q&A
  • Audience engagement

Reach engaged practitioners, innovators, and leaders looking for guidance they can utilize right away. Help define what’s next for enterprise risk management.

Submit your session proposal by Friday, June 19, 2026.

RIMS is committed to an engaging educational experience and welcomes proposals that reflect diverse perspectives and real-world experience. All proposals must be submitted electronically. Late or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. All sessions must be educational—please avoid sales pitches. Dedicated networking time will be available for speakers, sponsors, and attendees.

Tips for your sessions

  • Make it compelling: Deliver timely, relevant content with practical, research-backed takeaways (data, tools, frameworks, and real-world examples).
  • Make it relevant: Design for mixed experience levels—include clear basics and optional depth for advanced attendees.
  • Be authentic: Share what worked—and what didn't—so others can learn faster.
  • Customize: Tailor examples and guidance to the audience's role, context, and constraints.
  • Keep it educational: Practical knowledge builds credibility; sales pitches hurt ratings and future opportunities.

Topics should fall within the Foundational or Advanced category.

FOUNDATIONAL (Core ERM Leadership Capabilities)

These are table stakes for any effective ERM leader:

  • ERM Organizational Alignment & Governance: Core to establishing authority, structure, and accountability.
  • Developing and Customizing Enterprise Risk Strategies: Strategy design is fundamental, not advanced.
  • Embedding Risk into Strategy, Operations & Projects: This is the bridge from theory to execution.
  • Integrating Risk into Organizational Decision Making: If this isn’t in place, ERM isn’t functioning properly.
  • Risk Assessment, Quantification & Metrics: Measurement is foundational, even if sophistication varies.
  • Standards, Frameworks and Best Practices in ERM: COSO / ISO / NIST alignment is baseline knowledge.

ADVANCED (Optimization, Influence, and Next-Level ERM)

These require a mature program or deeper expertise:

  • Evolving Risk Management Capabilities & Practices: Continuous improvement, transformation, scaling maturity.
  • Building Risk Management Maturity: Explicit maturity modeling and progression is advanced.
  • Strategic Risk & Enterprise Resiliency: Forward-looking, scenario-based, resilience engineering.
  • Technology & AI Applications in ERM: Tooling, automation, predictive analytics—beyond basics.
