San Antonio (August 14, 2025)— RIMS, the risk management society®, proudly hosted its first-ever Texas Regional Conference, August 4–6, 2025, marking a milestone in its mission to empower risk professionals to strengthen organizational resilience, by driving strategic decision-making and improving business outcomes. Held at San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, the event drew nearly 500 risk professionals from across the region.
A result of the tireless work of volunteer risk leaders from RIMS four Texas-based chapters – RIMS Central Texas Chapter, RIMS Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter, RIMS Houston Chapter, and RIMS South Texas Chapter – the conference featured dynamic keynote speakers, interactive panels, and invaluable networking opportunities for attendees to explore evolving risks, strategies, and resources to more effectively navigate uncertainty.
"Texas has long been a crucible of risk management innovation, and we thank the volunteer leaders from RIMS’ four Texas chapters who collaborated to serve the risk management community,” said RIMS CEO Gary A. LaBranche, FASAE, CAE. “Great risk management is predicated on learning from others and this year’s conference provided the perfect setting to do just that. What occurred in San Antonio wasn’t just a successful conference, it was the beginning of something truly special."
Highlights included:
- Opening keynote by inspirational entrepreneur, investor, and long-distance runner Huw Edwards who spoke about the power of mental toughness.
- RIMS announced a $5,000 donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support families that were displaced by the devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country.
- More than 20 panel discussions and presentations that explored emerging risks and the critical strategies needed to address them.
- Forty-Seven Exhibitors and Sponsors onsite, sharing the latest services, resources, and technologies to elevate risk management programs.
- Closing remarks by Major General (Retired) Robert F. Whittle, Jr., who shared stories from the battlefield and their correlation to risk management success.
