As part of its ongoing Professional Development initiative, RIMS, the Risk Management Society™, will present the following workshops in the month of May:

 

FUNDAMENTALS OF INSURANCE

May 6 – 7, 2013

The Metropolitan Club - Chicago

Acquire a solid understanding of commercial insurance as a risk financing tool that will empower you to assess and optimize your current program, and ensure its alignment with corporate strategy. This in-depth workshop will cover the insurance transaction, insurance options, liability, re-insurance, captive insurance and more.

Instructor: Dan H. Kugler is the RIMS Vice President and the Assistant Treasurer, Risk Management for Snap-on Incorporated.

 

RISK MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES: GAINING THE RISK ADVANTAGE

May 8 – 9, 2013

The Metropolitan Club - Chicago

This workshop offers a comprehensive risk management overview.  The two-day educational program explores the risk assessment process, control and mitigation strategies, and mechanisms to identify and transfer risk, as well as assess the best coverage.

CYBER RISK & LIABILITY: PRIVACY & DATA SECURITY RISK MANAGEMENT

May 16 – 17, 2013

The Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans

This workshop explores the latest developments in cyber risks, as well as tools to help risk professionals better understand and implement compliance plans, ensure data privacy and mitigate damages should a breach occur.

Instructor: Deena Coffman is the Chief Operating Officer for IDT911 Consulting, LLC. Eduard F. Goodman is the Chief Privacy Officer for Identity Theft911, LLC.

 

ACCELERATING ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT THEORY INTO PRACTICE

May 22 – 24, 2013

RIMS Offices – 1065 Avenue of the Americas, New York

In this two-day workshop, attendees will learn the steps to design, activate, monitor and improve ERM practices, as well as how to structure a practical ERM framework that creates and protects organizational value while improving efficiencies.

Instructor: Donna L. Galer was Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of General Insurance Worldwide (ret.).

 

ENTERPRISE-WIDE RISK MANAGEMENT: DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING

May 29 – 31, 2013

Radisson Hotel Edmonton

Participants will acquire an understanding of the ERM process, as well as ERM strategies and tools in building an ERM development plan through case studies, check-lists and hands-on exercises in each of the ERM steps.

Instructor: Andrew J. Bent, ARM-P was the Director of the Integrated Risk Management Branch of the Edmonton Police Service.
