Session Handouts and Supplemental Information
This year at RIMS 2008 we are continuing with our green initiatives to reduce the amount of environmental waste! Session handouts are a great tool and resource for attendees that assist them with following the presentation and make necessary notes. While we understand the importance of session handouts, we ask that when you are promoting your session(s) at RIMS 2008 that you encourage registered participants who are bringing a laptop or PDA to the conference to download the handouts ahead of the session. Working from an electronic copy will reduce the amount of printed copies needed. If printed copies are required, we ask that you consider a layout that reduces the number of overall printed pages as well as printing a respectable amount of copies to avoid excess copies going directly into the trash.
We also encourage you to go beyond making your PowerPoint presentation your primary handout and provide supplemental information like articles that pertain to your session, tools, checklists, guides and practical information attendees can reference and utilize post-conference.
For consistency, we ask that you use the RIMS Template in its entirety for your presentation and handouts. If you wish to add your logo, you may do so, but do not remove the RIMS Conference logo. Depending on the program you are currently using, XP or Vista, please be sure that the background color is not grey but a hint of blue.
All presentations must be uploaded to the RIMS Web Site by Friday, April 18. Participants can visit www.RIMS.org/Handouts to download handouts after April 18.
We appreciate your effort in making RIMS 2008 an environmentally friendly conference. We cannot make this happen without your help. THANK YOU.
