RIMS and James Lam Launch Chief Risk Officer Certificate Program in Advanced Enterprise Risk Management
(NEW YORK) May 21, 2025 – RIMS, the risk management society®, has announced the launch of a new RIMS-CRO Certificate Program in Advanced Enterprise Risk Management that will equip senior risk leaders with proven tools, frameworks, and insights to navigate today’s evolving risk landscape. Developed in partnership with James Lam & Associates, participants who complete the program will earn the RIMS-CRO certificate further demonstrating their readiness to serve in executive and board-level risk leadership roles. Registration for this comprehensive, 12-week interactive program is now open. The inaugural cohort begins in July 2025.
The new certificate program is also the perfect next step for RIMS-CRMP certification holders. It is designed for senior risk professionals, including chief risk officers (CROs), board directors, and corporate leaders in risk, compliance, audit, finance, and business management. Participants will gain hands-on insights directly from James Lam, one of the world's foremost experts in ERM, risk governance, and board oversight.

Based on the best-selling book, Implementing Enterprise Risk Management – From Methods to Applications by James Lam, the certificate program is organized into the following six learning modules:

- Stakeholders Requirements, ERM Program Development, and Risk Culture
- Risk Governance and Oversight
- The Role of the Chief Risk Officer and the Risk Appetite Statement
- Driving Business Decisions – Risk Assessment, Quantification, and Strategic and Performance Management
- Continuous Feedback and Improvement – Metrics, Reports, and Feedback Loops.
