SAFETY AT RISKWORLD 2024

The well-being of RISKWORLD attendees is a top priority for RIMS. Each year, RIMS contracts with third-party consultants to implement best practices in safety and security at RISKWORLD. RIMS works closely with local police, public safety, and city officials to ensure a safe and productive RISKWORLD experience.

Below are some helpful tips, San Diego Convention Center safety services and practices, as well as a listing of local emergency facilities:

SAFETY TIPS FOR CONFERENCE ATTENDEES

  1. Should an emergency occur during the conference, RIMS will issue push notifications via the RISKWORLD Mobile App, by email, and by SMS to your mobile phone.
  2. Safety at the San Diego Convention Center
  3. Remove your RISKWORLD registration badge when you leave the convention center.
  4. Sharing your RISKWORLD conference badge is strictly prohibited.  Sharing the badge weakens on-site security and prevents RIMS from reaching your emergency contact(s) if needed.
  5. If you lose your RISKWORLD badge, please notify a RIMS staff member immediately (staff members will always be available in the registration lobby at the San Diego Convention Center). Similarly, if you lose your hotel room key, please notify your hotel as soon as possible.
  6. RIMS provides shuttle service to and from hotels to the convention center, as well as to the Opening Reception. Please use the RISKWORLD shuttle service for access between your hotel and the convention center. Consider ride share services for late night and early morning events and meetings. Information about RISKWORLD Shuttle Buses will be available on the RISKWORLD Mobile App.
  7. RIMS attendees enter and exit from the San Diego Convention Center’s main lobby at 111 West Harbor Drive – San Diego, CA 92101 (except in an emergency). Service contractors enter and exit the building from the Contractor’s Door, located dockside of the Convention Center.
  8. When walking, stick to well-lit, busy areas. Don’t be distracted with your cell phone.
  9. Do not display hotel guestroom keys in public.
  10. It is highly recommended for guests to only use the main entrance of their hotels.
  11. If you see something, say something.  Notify RIMS staff or the San Diego Convention Center Public Safety (619) 525-5490 (24 hours) or the City of San Diego Police Department at (619) 531-2000 / 9-1-1 or Fire/Rescue at (858) 974-9891 /9-1-1

RISKWORLD 2024 COVID-19 POLICY

RIMS and the San Diego Convention Center will work in tandem to ensure the Convention is safe and clean.  Since the pandemic’s onset, the facility has increased its cleaning and sanitation schedules and has installed additional hand sanitizing stations.

The RISKWORLD 2024 COVID-19 policy will mirror the policy of the local jurisdiction.  Currently, there are no COVID-19 mandates in San Diego. However, if that changes, RIMS will notify all attendees.
