Webinars. Online courses. Workshops. Podcasts. All educational tools that RIMS offers its members to keep current on trends, key issues and how-to’s on risk management. And now there’s a new edition to RIMS online learning library—the CourseCast.
What is a CourseCast, you may ask? It’s a 1 ½ hour online “class” that resembles a webinar in that it, too, is interactive, BUT with a twist. Participants will be tasked with exercises during the CourseCast, allowing them to put theory into practice in real time! Like webinars, each CourseCast will also include a PowerPoint presentation and Q&A portion.
RIMS is rolling out the first CourseCast in October on the topic of “Minimizing Insurance and Claims Costs.”
RIMS is also offering a number of workshops on ERM for risk practitioners at all levels. In the works is an advanced ERM course that will serve as prep for the new advanced ARM-e designation. This three-day course, “Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ERM): Developing and Implementing,” is offered in partnership with the American Institute for CPCU/Insurance Institute of America (the Institutes). Enrollees who have earned their ARM will be able to take the Institutes’ exam to earn the ARM-e designation. RIMS will offer the course beginning in 2010.
