RIMS Chapters conduct a variety of activities that successfully engage students. These best practices and templates have been contributed by RIMS Chapters to help your Chapter develop programs that bring students into to RIMS community.
- Student Paper and Presentation Contest - RIMS Delaware Valley Chapter
The Student Paper and Presentation Contest is a competition open to all student members. The Chapter announces a theme and poses a question. In Phase 1, competition participants submit an essay not to exceed 800 words addressing the designated topic and offering feasible solutions. In Phase 2, all essays are reviewed and graded by a carefully chosen task force comprised Chapter members. The essays with the 3 highest scores are announced, and the submitters are given the chance to present their work at the Chapter’s next meeting in front of the membership. The contestants are judged by a panel of senior members and the winner is awarded a great prize!

During RIMS New York Chapter's “shadow day” volunteer risk managers bring students from St. John's Universitywith them to work for a day so they can see what it's like to be in the risk management industry. Risk managers, brokers and insurers participate.
