NAIC Principles for Effective Cybersecurity Insurance Regulatory Guidance ​​

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) Cybersecurity Task Force released its “Principles for Effective Cybersecurity Insurance Regulatory Guidance” document on April 17. RIMS had filed comments on a previous draft on April 10. Those comments can be found here.

Texas State Legislative Conference
RIMS members from throughout Texas convened in Austin on April 8th to meet with their legislators to express their views on policy issues important to the state. Issues for this year included workers compensation presumptions, ORSA requirements, and captive pooling requirements.

RISK PAC Reception 
On April 27, RISK PAC held its annual fundraising reception at the New Orleans Convention Center. Louisiana Insurance Commissioner, and former NAIC President, Jim Donelon was the keynote speaker to the group.

Alternatives to Traditional Workers Compensation 
The RIMS External Affairs Committee is currently working on a white paper describing varying alternatives to the more traditional state based workers compensation systems.
