We suggest that you register on-line for quick registration. If you are mailing us a check or doing a bank transfer, you need to fax us a copy of the registration form in order to hold your seat in the program. Registration is not guaranteed until we receive payment.  If you wish to participate in a RIMS course, the registration fee needs to be received by RIMS before the first day of the course.
 
If you register by mailing a check or doing a bank transfer, you will be accepted as long as the program is not sold out when we receive your payment.
 
International Attendee Information/Travel Visas- APPLY EARLY! Visa applicants are advised to apply to the consultate as soon as they decide to attend a program. We suggest at least four months in advance to allow enough time for the visa approval process to take place.
 
Since registrations will be limited, we suggest registering as soon as possible.

Cancellations and Refunds

RIMS reserves the right to cancel a course if conditions warrant. In the event of such a cancellation, registration fees will be refunded. RIMS is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses that an attendee may incur due to such a cancellation. Before purchasing your airline ticket, please confirm with RIMS (pd@RIMS.org) that there are enough registrations to conduct the program.
 
All requests for refunds or changes must be submitted in writing. Registrants who cancel 15 business days or less prior to the start of the workshop can send a replacement from their company or receive credit to attend another workshop with the same duration and cost within a year of the cancelled registration. Please note if the member rate was paid for the original registration and you elect to send a replacement or transfer the credit to another employee of your organization who is not a member, an additional fee will be charged to offset the difference between the member and nonmember rate. No refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 15 days from the start of the workshop.
 
Registrants who cancel 21 business days or less prior to the start of the workshop will be subject to a $150 service charge. Refunds for credit cards will be processed within 30 days. All other forms of payment will be issued 60 days following the course. Transfer to another course can be made within the calendar year. Individuals may be substituted prior to the course.
 
In the event that a presenter is unable to perform due to an unforeseen circumstance, RIMS shall find a substitute with equal expertise.

Ms. Elise M. Farnham
Elise Farnham has 40 years experience in the risk management and insurance industry. She is President of Illumine Consulting, a firm dedicated to sharing knowledge with the risk management and insurance communities through continuing education, claims management consulting, and expert witness testimony. Ms. Farnham’s company provides continuing education programs, professional and personal development programs, and business ethics programs.

Elise began her career in the insurance industry in 1973 with Crawford and Company. She became a multi-line adjuster and in 1978 was promoted as the first female claims branch manager for the company. She has worked in Texas, New York and Georgia in senior management positions, such as Regional Manager, VP of the Learning and Resource Center, Sales and Marketing, and Special Projects. She has held senior level positions with The Harmonie Group, CSB Group, and GAB Robins, NA.

Ms. Farnham is a member of the CPCU Society. She has previously served the Society as S. E. Regional Governor, Executive Committee member, president of the Atlanta Chapter of CPCU, and on numerous task forces, including the Ethics Certification Task Force, the CPCU Claims Section Committee, and chaired the Media Advertising Task Force. Presently, she serves on the Consultants, Litigators, Educators, and Witnesses Interest Group committee. She is a member of the education and professional
development faculty for the Society with courses on ethics as well as technical insurance and risk management topics. The Atlanta Chapter recognized her as the 2011 Instructor of the Year for her dedication to providing quality education.

Elise has assisted the American Institute for CPCU by providing input for the ARM, AIC, and CPCU programs as well as provided content for textbooks and on-line learning modules. She served on the Board of Ethical Inquiry for the American Institute for CPCU from 2000-2008.

Elise is Past President of the International Association of Insurance Professionals (1998/1999) having served on the Board of Directors for 5 years. She was Regional Vice President of Region 1 (Northeast). Prior to that, she served two terms as President of NAIW-New York City. Currently, she is a member of the Insurance Professionals of Atlanta. In 2004, she received the AAMGA Achievement Award from the Georgia Council of IAIP for her contributions to the association and was recognized at the Most Influential Member in 2011. In 2002, 2004, and 2009, she was named Insurance Woman of the Year in Atlanta, and in 1993, she was chosen National Claims Professional of the Year.

Ms. Farnham serves on the Board of Directors for the Registered Professional Adjusters Society (RPA.) She frequently instructs for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) and presents the Underwriting and Claims modules for their Preferred Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM) designation. She often presents professional development workshops and webinars for RIMS.

Ms. Farnham is an international speaker and her articles have been published in Business Insurance, The Claims Advisor, Claims Magazine, CPCU Claims Section Quarterly, National Underwriter, Risk Management Quarterly, Today’s Insurance Professional, Canadian Insurance Magazine (published in Canada) and Insurance International (published in the UK.). Ms. Farnham provides expert commentary on personal lines issues for the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI.) She has just published a
children’s e-book, “Monster in the Barn” available on Amazon, for children ages 3-9 years.

She holds industry designations including: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Management, and Certified Professional Insurance Woman.
