Help Facilitate New Orleans' Recovery!
About the Command Vehicle
The command vehicle will house a variety of equipment—reference manuals, hazardous chemicals information, communications equipment (such as phones, radio, video, VoIP, data) computers and a weather station just to name some of the equipment. Your donation would ensure communications interoperability during critical times, allowing the New Orleans Fire Department to continue to protect and serve its citizens in all situations.
New Orleans is near and dear to RIMS—the first ever RIMS Conference was held in the Big Easy in 1963 and the city has hosted the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition seven times over the years. We returned to New Orleans for RIMS 2007 and hosted a Comedy Benefit featuring Dennis Miller to help the city overcome the devastation it suffered from Hurricane Katrina. RIMS is purchasing a new mobile command unit for the New Orleans Fire Department to assist with the city's strategic recovery plan. It is a much-needed vehicle and will become an integral part of its emergency response capabilities.
RIMS goal is to raise enough money to purchase this equipment for the Friends of the New Orleans Fire Department and donate it on behalf of RIMS members and supporters. The RIMS 2007 Comedy Benefit raised a significant portion of the amount needed, but we still need your help. Make a donation today and encourage your company to do the same. New Orleans needs your help!
To show our support, RIMS has donated $50,000 and will match "dollar for dollar" individual and RIMS chapter contributions up to an additional $50,000!
No amount is too large or too small!!! Making a contribution is easy—go to www.RIMS.org/DonationForm, print out the form, and mail it back with your information today.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
