RIMS Announces New Online Program and Certification for Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist

Program focuses on specific needs for risk managers in the construction sector

RIMS has announced an addition to its online course offerings--the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®) certification. The program, developed by the International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), allows risk practitioners to develop a specialized expertise in construction risk and insurance.

The core curriculum for CRIS® consists of five courses:

  • Commercial Auto, Surety, CIPs and Miscellaneous Lines
  • Commercial Liability Insurance for Contractors
  • Contractual Risk Transfer in Construction
  • Property Insurance for Contractors
  • Worker's Compensation for Contractors

For those new to the construction industry, there is an optional Fundamentals of Construction Risk Management and Insurance course to develop the essentials to complete the core curriculum. Each lesson can be completed in six to 10 hours and risk practitioners may take them in any order. Courses cost $59; RIMS members receive a 10% discount.
