    Erin Meyer

    Author, Professor

    Erin Meyer is the author of The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business and is a professor at INSEAD, one of the world’s leading international business sc​​hools. Her work focuses on how the world’s most successful global leaders navigate the complexities of cultural differences in a multi-cultural environment. Working in Africa, Europe, and the United States prompted Meyer’s study of the communication patterns and business systems of different parts of the world. Her framework allows international executives to pin-point their leadership preferences, and compare their methods to the management styles of other cultures.
     
    An American living in Paris, Erin began her career teaching English students in Botswana as a Peace Corps volunteer and later working with Asian immigrants in the United States. She has been published in the New York Times Sunday paper, Forbes.com, The Times of India and Harvard Business Review. Her December 2015 HBR article “Getting to Si, Ja, Oui, Hai, and Da” was the most read HBR article of 2015​


     
     

    Billie Jean King

    Tennis Legend

    King, who won an astounding 39 Grand Slam titles during her career, blazed trails for women everywhere in 1970 when she became one of nine players to break away from the tennis establishment and accept a one-dollar contract to compete in the newly created Virginia Slims Series. The revolt led to the birth of women's pro tennis and the formation of the Women's Tennis Association.
     
    In 1973, King produced one of the greatest moments in sports history when she defeated Bobby Riggs in the famous match dubbed “The Battle of the Sexes.”

    In 1974, King co-founded World TeamTennis, a mixed-gender professional tennis league, and remained heavily involved with the league for over 40 years. She currently owns the Philadelphia Freedoms and heads up the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative.
