The Chapter Excellence Award was created to highlight the achievements of chapters in the areas of Advancing the Risk Management Profession, Outstanding Chapter Programming and Outstanding Member Services.
The submission process for the RIMS Excellence Award has changed so before you get started, please carefully read through the instructions below. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
How to Apply:
-
You must complete an application in each of the three categories (Outstanding Chapter Programming, Advancing the Risk Management Profession and Outstanding Member Services) in order to be eligible for the Chapter Excellence Award.
-
All questions must be answered on the online submission form.
-
Supporting documentation for each part of the application must be uploaded directly onto the RIMS website at the end of each submission form. Before submitting your final application, please make sure you have uploaded three separate supporting documents, one for each part of your submission.
-
Individual awards in these categories have been eliminated.
-
Chapters applying for the Chapter Excellence Award can not apply for a Chapter Achievement Award.
Submission Requirements:
-
All entries must reflect activities from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009. Activities prior or subsequent to these dates should NOT be included, and will not be considered.
-
Submissions should represent activities that are portable from chapter to chapter. The application should highlight best practices that can be shared and may be duplicated among other chapters.
-
Answer each question in its entirety and provide details regarding your response. Details assist the Member and Chapter Services Committee in understanding what is being done in the chapter. Avoid simple answers or skipping a question.
-
To prevent losing your answers due to technical/computer problems, it is recommended that you prepare and save your submission in a word processing document before entering the information online. Once you’ve completed your application, copy and paste the answers onto the online submission form.
-
By completing an award application, you agree to the submission becoming the property of RIMS, and that RIMS may post and/or publicize it in any media it determines, in its discretion, to be appropriate.
-
Multiple winners are anticipated and encouraged! Chapters are not competing against other chapters in their size category. Awards will be given based on individual chapter excellence - measured against specific award point thresholds.
Supporting Documentation:
-
Supporting documentation must be submitted in one (1) .pdf file, no larger than 1MB.
Tip: Color documents tend to be larger in size then black & white documents.
-
All supporting documentation should be well organized, titled and numbered accordingly.
-
Submissions that are not well documented may result in penalized grading.
-
Provide only the back-up documentation requested. Avoid submitting excess information.
Submission Confirmation:
Notification:
-
Notification of winners will be made to the Chapter's Board of Directors in care of the Chapter President. Following the awards presentations, information provided in winning submissions may be shared with members of RIMS for educational purposes and may be posted online on the RIMS Web site.
-
CAP award winning Chapters will be honored at the Awards Luncheon on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition in Boston, MA. Chapters Award recipients will be requested to identify a representative who will accept the award at the luncheon and who will be available to attend a mandatory rehearsal on the prior day.
