âRIMS is pleased to make contributions to organizations such as Give Kids the World Village which, like other charitable organizations today, are feeling the impact of the recession,â says Joseph A. Restoule, CIP, CRM, RIMS president and leader of risk management at NOVA Chemicals Corporation. âWe are very grateful to our conference attendees and exhibitors who joined in this volunteer effort to give back to this charitable organization. We also want to extend a special thanks to Aon, who has been a generous supporter of RIMS Community Service Day for the past three years.â
âAon is a company of people helping people, and we see community service as an extension of what we do every day in our work, which includes helping people at risk,â says Doug Turk, executive vice president and managing principal at Aon Corporation. âOur global team of Aon colleagues makes a concerted effort to be part of the fabric of the local communities where they work, and we strive to create environments and opportunities, such as in Orlando with Give Kids the World, where this philosophy is warmly embraced.â
In a separate event on April 17, RIMS presented a donation to the Russell Home, a private, non-profit facility for severely handicapped children in central Florida, on behalf of RIMS 350+ conference speakers.
Past RIMS Community Service Day events have included volunteer efforts by conference attendees and exhibitors for San Diegoâs King Chavez Academy of Excellence charter school and New Orleans City Park.Â
