Rick Roberts has worked in risk management for 23 years and has experience in the financial services (Aetna), manufacturing (Ensign-Bickford) and real estate industries (both companies). He presently designs, develops and manages risk financing and risk management programs for: explosive assemblies in aircraft, spacecraft and defense products; pet food additive products; chemical toll manufacturing and wood pellet manufacturing operations as well as programs for real estate management and real estate development projects. In the past he also has developed risk financing programs for lead paint and asbestos removal operations, commercial explosives manufacturing, trucking operations and products sold into the telecommunications industry.
Additional responsibilities include managing the medical and security departments of Ensign-Bickford Industries as part of the risk management function that includes business resiliency planning for those operations.
Mr. Roberts has been a member of RIMS for 21 years. He has served as president of RIMS Connecticut Valley chapter and has participated on various RIMS Committees: Research (2000-2002), Nominating (2000-2006) and the Quality Advisory Council (2006 to 2008). He was named to RIMS board of directors in December 2007 and is also on the board of trustees for the Aircraft Builders Council in London, England. Rick has been liaison for the ERM Development Committee, RIMS Canada Council (RCC) and most recently the Professional Development Advisory Council (PDAC) portfolios while on the Board.
