Frederick Savage is a director of risk management at Chevron Corporation in San Ramon, California. His role involves providing risk management expertise to various Chevron entities and joint ventures around the world, and his main areas of responsibility include the power, pipelines, new technology, alternative energy, and environmental management groups. He provides support and risk management council during contract negotiations with various partners, contracting groups and public entities. He also provides risk management support on a number of major capital projects involving Chevron in various parts of the world. He is responsible for all of the corporation’s professional liability insurance programs.
Prior to joining Chevron, Mr. Savage served as the manager of USA risk management for Texaco in Houston, Texas. In that role, he was responsible for Texaco’s risk management activities and insurance programs in the USA and Canada. He was also responsible for the purchase of the corporation’s worldwide professional liability insurance programs.
Mr. Savage began his insurance career in the UK, working in the treaty department of a large international reinsurance company in London. He then worked for a number of years as an insurance broker in the Bermuda insurance market.
Mr. Savage is a graduate of Queen Mary College, University of London. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK, and has completed the ARM professional designation in the USA. He has served on the RIMS board of directors since 2009.
