Director
Mr. Savage currently serves as Director, Risk Management (San Ramon) for the Chevron Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for providing risk management expertise to various Chevron entities and joint ventures. His main areas of responsibility include the Power, Pipelines, Technology, Alternative Energy, Aviation Products and Environmental Management groups. He provides support and insurance counsel during contract negotiations with various partners, contracting groups and public entities. He is also responsible for providing insurance support on a number of major capital projects for Chevron in various parts of the world.
Prior to joining Chevron, Mr. Savage served as the Manager of USA Risk Management for Texaco in Houston, Texas. In that role, he was responsible for Texaco’s Risk Management activities and Insurance Programs in the USA and Canada. He was also responsible for the purchase of the corporation’s worldwide Professional Liability programs.
Mr. Savage began his insurance career in the London market working in the treaty department of a large international reinsurance company. He also worked for a number of years as an insurance broker in the Bermuda insurance marketplace.
Mr. Savage is a graduate of Queen Mary College, University of London. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK, and has completed the ARM professional designation in the USA.
