RIMS will support Cradles to Crayons, a national organization founded in Massachusetts looking to create a future where childhood poverty no longer exists. Cradles to Crayons provides children, from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. In Massachusetts alone, more than 305,000 children live in low-income or poverty-stricken households. In any given year, more than 100,000 of them will experience homelessness. Since its founding in 2000, Cradles to Crayons has employed over 50,000 volunteers, worked with 335 agencies serving children and their families, and has personally served over 1,200,000 children.
Join RIMS, ESIS, and Cradles to Crayons for several activities throughout the week, as well as to learn how you can help support Cradles to Crayons turn compassion into action in ending childhood poverty. Activities will take place in the main lobby of the convention center.
